#artistchallenge Day 5

I've been gradually increasing the colours of distress inks I have & buying the mini ink pads. So today I had a play with a few of my new colours & a stamp I purchased at a craft show a while ago. The design was inspired by a few blog challenges ...

To make the coloured background, I blended 4 different inks onto white cardstock through a stencil & spritzed with water. I then inked up the bird stamp & stamped it 4 times on top of the coloured background. With the 5th stamping,I masked off the bird part of the stamp so I could just stamp it's perch. The flying bird was stamped once on the main card & then again lower down without re-inking to give the effect of the bird flying off it's perch. I masked off part of the top of the card, blended distress ink & stamped the sentiment.

I found a neat idea on Pinterest how to keep blending foams with their matching ink pad... the round foams are a perfect fit for underneath the mini ink pads & you can hold them in place with some washi tape ...

Thanks for popping by & take care.

And even more 'Chloe'!

Anyone would think that I really love this die!!

I really liked the design of the card in yesterday's blog post, so I've used it again here, just tweaking it slightly. I embossed the top part of the card blank with white embossing paste using a Tim Holtz stencil. With another piece of cardstock I die cut a stitched rectangle & out of that a stitched circle, mounting it on the card base with 3D pads. A stamped sentiment & 2 die cut Chloe stems finish it off.

I entered a card on my blog the other day, here, into this week's 'Less is More' challenge but there wasn't really enough 'white space' on it to be classed as CAS. I think this one might be ok so I'm trying again!

Thanks for popping by & take care.

Lots of love for 'Chloe'

My crafting mojo has returned in the last week or two so I have quite a few cards to share with you!
First one up is this one ... I've seen the Memory Box 'Chloe stem' die used a lot on Pinterest but whenever I've looked for it online it's always out of stock. Thankfully I've at last been able to buy it & here's my first make with it:

I have a few stencils now & I really like the textured detail you can get using them with embossing paste.

Thanks for popping by & take care.
